At face value the Iranians may indeed be quitting the process
of enriching uranium for some very practical reasons.
(1) Enrichment facilities make inviting targets for either Israeli or American
jet bombers.
(2) Enrichment facilities are slow; weapon's-grade uranium production
usually produces only enough material a year for one or two bombs.
(3) Plutonium is better. A reactor facility can produce enough plutonium
annually for anywhere from 5 to 25 bombs.
(4) It looks like the Iranians are switching to plutonium.
