Kudos to Easterbrook for mentioning nuclear power, even if, according to him, the study he's talking about didn't (the word "nuclear" does not appear in the index).

I have not, of course, read the whole study at this point, so I can't comment on specifics, but I'm skimming certain areas. Chapter 19, for example, got my immediate attention.

I do wish people would stop obsessing on gas taxes as a fix. Somehow taking a bite out of the working man's wallet is a crime of unimaginable proportions if an oil company does it (high gas prices), but the neatest thing in the world of the government gets the cash (high gas taxes). Of course, the government will spend it wisely. It always does, right?
