There IS a problem here, and Israeli soldiers have been, and will be prosecuted for such abuses.
However, the point that she may have had a bomb in a bookbag is well taken. So many innocent-appearing Palestinians are carrying bombs these days that the Israelis have become a little trigger-happy. Who can blame them?
I am hopeful that, since the chief obstacle to peace between Israel and Palestine has been removed with the death of Arafat, a reconcilliation may happen in the next year. Time will tell.
