Prospects for Long Life...
Hi All
On the BBC are two articles discussing vastly enhanced life expectancy... pro and con...
one researcher claims that people alive today might life to 1,000 as we have techniques available or nearly so for reversing the main agents of cellular-level damage and ageing. The other claims this is just another immortality cult like many, many before.
While the sceptic might be right about the past, hasn't medicine developed a bit since the times of Ko Hung (300s) and Roger Bacon (1200s)?
If it can be done then how will society change? And who will be first to try to fly to the stars knowing they might arrive alive and well after 400 years or so? Would you?
Adam
