Thirtieth Anniversary of Pioneer 11 Flyby of Jupiter
This nice little write-up came from Universe Today:
Thirty years ago this week (Dec. 2) Pioneer 11 became the second spacecraft to fly past Jupiter. Among Pioneer 11's contributions were the first direct observation of Jupiter's polar regions, dramatic images of the Great Red Spot, and the determination of the mass of Jupiter's moon Callisto. After its encounter with Jupiter, Pioneer 11 made further history in 1979 when it became the first spacecraft to fly past Saturn.
