I've been trying to get this right for some time now and will again will attempt it this winter once things slow done for me.
It's a 64 minute exposure with film. This photo is without the camera mounted to the telescope and the reason for the oblong stars during the final 2 minute exposure. The ones with the camera mounted on the telescope have flaws like airplane passing through or the lens became fogged or...it's definetly been a challenge.
Speaking of Pleiades, did you see the cool Hubble photo on <a href= http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap041204.html APOD? The star Merope of the seven sisters shines on the dust nebula.
As far as the blue stars, it's the one color that reflects the best??? I dona no.
Nice photos Raoul, new toys are fun!
