re: And who be the murderers?

I don't know. If someone possessed a functional forebrain, they might reason out that the side which is:

- deliberately and with forethought seeking out and killing Iraqi civilians

- taking hostages from humanitarian organizations and killing them

- storing arms in mosques, schools, and hospitals and using them as military posts and firing points

- attacking under the flag of truce

- booby trapping dead and injured insurgents

- running torture chambers--real ones where heads are sawed off, not topped with underwear

- executing captured enemies by the dozens

- deliberately destroying Iraqi infrastructure with no military value

- Deliberately blowing up mosques containing only noncombatants

- and a long list of other crimes

Well, one might decide that this particular side might--just might--be holding the dirty end of the morality stick in this conflict.

Of course, if you're rooting for that side, you might overlook all this. The Left has overlooked one hell of a lot worse things for their political agenda over the past decades.

I've run into more than a few people around the net and in person who have invested a lot of themselves in the failure of this war. They see this as the far end of the Vietnam arc, and that they will have lost a very important part of their philosophical foundation if Amerikkka brings real freedom to a country by military force. An example just from today can be found here.
