Fallujah, after victory, and elections.

"Fallujah, the scene of a weeklong US-led offensive last month to uproot insurgents based in the city, erupted in more violence that began with American and Iraqi forces clashing with guerillas in several suburbs and ending with a series of US air strikes."

And in the meantime, the voting cannot possibly express the will of the Iraqi people. Clearly it is only to try to supply the thinnest thread of legitimacy to an Iraqi puppet government. Those "elections" can't pass the smell test. It's just common sense that what comes out of an "election" in the midst of a struggle to eliminate a foreign invader will not be valid.

You’re Voting for Whom?
"Iraq’s new political coalition is reluctant to release the names of its election candidates."

What a mess. Americans, Iraqis, Brits, and so on are dying, long after it was discovered there were no WMD, long after Saddam has been deposed, and why? To see to it that a American puppet is installed, one who will honor Halliburton contracts.

Try to cut it some other way, and it just doesn't slice.
