The online version of Colorado Springs' daily paper, is here: Gazette.com.

I don't subscribe to the Gazette, I'm a little far north for that. But I know some that do, I'll ask that they save that page for me. Here's the article that goes with it, but with a different graphic, apparently.

There are those that might not like the comparison of the Holy Scriptures to AOL version 9.1. For some, the actual printed words of holy texts are themselves sacred. For example, the adherents of the I Ching insist that it be stored in a red silk cover, and that it never touches the ground or any surface not covered in silk. What does it mean to recycle, throw away, line a bird-cage, or start a holiday fire with this insert? Is that like doing the same thing to a version of Holy Scripture that is printed on heavy linen with gilt edges and a leather cover that you purchased from a bookstore or church? Some insist that the symbols of faith or belief are as sacred as the things they represent. Like a flag.

I'm not all fired up one way or the other on this. My copy of the Bible is dog-eared, my I Ching lost its cover a long time ago, my Tao Te Ching's pages are wrinkled from reading it in the tub, and I left a copy of the Upanishads in the woods because that is were I found it.
