Now we know there are/where acidic conditions on Mars...

...what dangers does that chemical condition pose to future
astronauts on Mars?

For example: A future astronaut steps into a pile of some gummy acidic
material upto his ankles at the martian equator.

Normally, that gummy acidic muck would be frozen solid, but
because of the heat leaking from the spacesuit, and the noonday sun over the martian equator, the acidic material thaws and starts to slowly "eat"
through the spacesuit.
Is that danger over-rated?
