Actually it started with Doug's unjustifiably insulting inquisitive posters, being put in his place, and throwing a sissy tantrum.

Actually it started with Doug's unjustifiably insulting inquisitive posters, being put in his place, and then throwing a sissy tantrum in hopes of getting his way. He has picked up his toys and gone home and his tiny group of whiners should do their crying in the FLAME room, NOT in the Habitable Zone. Otherwise, the hypocrisy of those complaining is remarkable (albeit unsurprising).

I think that much of this whining is motivated by a desire to thwart pro-entrepreneurial reforms for which we have fought very hard in Washington for the scientific community's benefit. Those whose sinecures could be jeopardized tend to look for any justification to denigrate those who preach reforms. This phenomenon reinforces others' view that the space industry needs to be wrestled away from their monopolistic grasp, so that we can finally bring life to space and space to life. I am through responding to such whining today.
