What we had in WWII
We had a will to win.
Equipment is no issue in Iraq but the force we are willing to apply does not appear sufficient to win.
A suicide bomber walks into a mess hall and blows up dozens of our troops and our reaction is what?
I predicted at the beginning that extended casualty levels of 1-2 per day would lose the war due to war weariness in a democratic society.
We will see how it goes after the elections but the outlook is not good.
This may truly be the war to end wars. I know that I will never again support the use of troops in any situation where we don't have the obvious cause and the absolute will to apply the force required to win.
