1-8: City followed Paris and was itself followed in 1908 by London?
Figured this had something to do with the Black Plague, but couldn't name the city.
2-8: Who was the vicar of Ploverleigh who favoured three spoons to the teapot?
No idea, but reminded me of Number 6 on "The Prisoner" telling someone, "one for me, one for thee, and one for the pot."
8-5: Fishery research trawler was renamed and launched to combat whaling?
Obviously, this is the "Rainbow Warrior." I have no idea what the original name of the ship was.
8-6: Stretch of water received 257,000 barrels of North Slope Crude on Good Friday?
This one was irritating as hell. I remembered the name of the damn ship, but drew a complete blank on the name of the body of water, although I had known it before. I finally looked it up on a map because it was bugging me, but couldn't count it as a correct answer.
10-6: Developed his early theories in the Patent Office in Berne?
Mary Anne figured we'd all get this one. Embarrassingly, it's the first one I DID know for sure.
11-3: Has been dubiously attributed to imperial arson?
Guessed Rome and Nero.
11-10: Began in Patrick O'Leary's cowbarn?
Mary Anne guessed we'd get this one too. So did I.
I'm not even sure what section 13 meant.
15-1: What is Georgia?
On my mind. Such as it is.
18-5: Who, uniquely, included Count, Dave, Jabba, Bomb, Polar Bear and Jughead?
A dogsled team?
Argh. So far, a grand total of two.
Might be fun to do a race to see who could answer all these correctly on the Internet, but even I would take hours on this. Don't have that kind of time.
