The folks in the field are too damned busy with their mission to be aware of a larger picture.
It's a bit like saying an ER physician is aware of the financial condition of the hopsital in which he's working, of the physical condition of every patient on over ward.
He/she knows what's going on with the patient in front of them. And that's how it should be.
