It has done been exposed. In pretty much every state where the GOP holds the majority in their legislature...
...they have passed laws to make it harder to vote. They limit hours, they limit days, they limit early voting, they add various hoops to jump through, they purge registrations so people have to first hear about it and second re-register, etc. The reason is, - and completely without resort to paranoia since many of them have come out and admitted it - that these features tend to be used a little more by liberals than by conservatives. And because it seems that conservative voters will be more likely to be able and/or willing to jump through new hoops.
