My neighbor bought the dvd and brought it over with high recomendation. I would probably never have seen it otherwise. It was very entertaining and a completely different take on Arthur and his Knights.

Notice I said different not historically accurate as it was promoted. The premise of Arthur as a Roman military leader and the Knights as impressed calvary from the Steppes is great but.....

Arthur and his Knights are dressed in early Roman Imperial armor, not what was worn in the fifth century. Trebuchets didn't exist and crossbows weren't around Europe in the fifth century.

I think they also got their tribes and bad guys mixed up a bit. The Saxons were cast as invaders but in that period they were more likely to be mercenaries. I am also not too sure the Wodes had a place in that period.

Still it was great fun and Keira Knightley as Guinevere in blue war paint slicing up Saxons makes it worth the rental.
