I have done some research on incorporating the virtues of garden hoses and extension cords into climbing ropes and ship anchors. If you drag a garden hose or extension cord by one end across a sheet of polished glass five miles across, it will catch on something.
I only wish car parts would drop to the ground under the center of the car. For me, parts have a tendency to locate a small niche about halfway down in the nightmare of mechanical crap that lives under the hood of a modern car, and tucks itself away there to hibernate through the winter. I can tell they're trying to hibernate, because the niche is always closely located to blistering hot portions of the engine.
