What will follow are two stories I have been working on as of late. The first one is the stub of a SciFi Novel. Since it is the start of something big, there is very little of that ever-so-precious glue of stories; dialogue. So I will also post a non scifi short story that is really just an exercise in dialogue. In fact, if you read it, you will notice that dialogue is virtuallly the entire construction of one of the two characters. (not saying its particularily effective! just that it is)
I'm going to alter my name on these posts, just for a little extra anonymity. One of the stories has marginally adult themes (no, not explicit, sorry Tom!).
For the SF, I am very interested in getting Science consulting from the board. I am a science fan, but I have spent my intellectual energies elsewhere. So- How could the origin of earth be fully hidden from daughter colonies? By what theoretical mechanism could ships fly between the stars without a drive plume and without their destination being reliably tracked. Is it interesting? Does it get too into verbose descriptions of fanciful technology? Is it understandable? Do motives seem real? Blah Blah....
For the dialogue piece, I am interested in input on authoring style, believability and consistency of character development, Tone etc. I know we got a lot of aspiring writers here, and I am sure you all know more than me, since I have never had even so much as a workshop or a course on creative writing (well, there was 1 that came close).
Needless to say, all parts of the next two are copyrighted, no parts may be used in any other context w/o my permission. Yabbadah Yibidah etc etc.
Both are HTML coversions from word, so I have no idea if they'll come through okay.
