**It is important to note that this story is so far unsubstantiated.**
Suspicion is emerging that the island of Diego Garcia with which Bush launched "Shock and Awe" on Baghdad has been annihilated.
This island in the Indian Ocean near the Maldives is the United States strategic Asian base which controls the Middle East and is a secret installation with a no go zone for yachts, shipping and over flying aircraft. Housing B52's and other strategic attack aircraft, the island has a maximum height above sea level of 4 meters, no sea walls and houses over 3000 military personnel.
This island was recently in the news when the disgrace of the involuntary removal of ethnic islanders in 1964 to make way for the base in a deal struck between Britain and America became clear. The misery of the islanders and their abject poverty in exile became apparent in a court case brought in the Old Bailey, Britain's highest court.
A judgement was made for repatriation, but British and American authorities refused to obey the court. American sources stated last week that the island avoided the tsunami because of coral reefs and undersea mountains, which is clearly a fudge.
The wave passed over the island and struck the African coast thousands of kilometres to the west including Somalia and the Seychelles, causing massive destruction.
News released today has declared 5000 deaths of Americans in the Asian Tsunami.
Where?
We expect news to leak over the next months identifying the destruction of military property and loss of life.
Failure of the US Military to quickly respond to other areas in reach of Diego Garcia such as the Maldives is indicative of this loss as Governments scrambled to replace the loss of security before other nations became aware.
Shock and Awe has always been reserved by Nature.

This story below has to be disinfo. There is no way the Tsunami spared this small island that is 4 feet above sea level.
MSNBC: Tsunami spares U.S. base in Diego Garcia
A deep underwater trench, a 30-year-old military decision and a tsunami warning saved one of America’s most secret bases from any significant damage during last week’s tsunami, say U.S. officials.
Diego Garcia, a 10-square-mile British island leased to the U.S. Navy, sits in the middle of the Indian Ocean, just south of the hard-hit Maldives. From the tiny atoll, the United States monitors all manner of communications from around the Middle East, East Africa and southern Asia, whether Indian or Pakistani nuclear intentions or terrorist travels.
The island also has an airfield capable of handling nuclear bombers and a seaport where supplies for much of the region are stored aboard pre-positioned ships. Bombers launched from Diego Garcia flew missions over Iraq in Desert Storm in 1990-91 and in Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
With an average height of 4 feet above sea level and a high point of only 22 feet, the island would have seemed to be as vulnerable as many other Indian Ocean islands to the tsunami that smashed into the coastline of Southeast Asia Christmas night and in the other direction sped across 3,000 miles of open water past Diego Garcia on the way to Africa.
