Christians issue gay warning on SpongeBob video
LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Conservative Christian groups accuse the makers of a video starring SpongeBob SquarePants, Barney and a host of other cartoon characters of promoting homosexuality to children.
The wacky square yellow SpongeBob is one of the stars of a music video due to be sent to 61,000 U.S. schools in March. The makers -- the nonprofit We Are Family Foundation -- say the video is designed to encourage tolerance and diversity.
But at least two Christian activist groups say the innocent cartoon characters are being exploited to promote the acceptance of homosexuality.
"A short step beneath the surface reveals that one of the differences being celebrated is homosexuality," wrote Ed Vitagliano in an article for the American Family Association.

I have seen a few minutes of 'Sponge bob', and I have never really felt any homosexual urges as result... (Though, I have spent hours in the kitchen looking longingly at my sponges)... Am I alone in thinking that MAYBE just maybe it takes more to subvert a kids sexuality than a kids show?
If so then what shall we say about the old superman shows... (a man in leotards)...
What about 'Batman and Robin', shall we view that as an add for NAMBLA?
And the Lone Ranger and his mask, (can we say S&M?), And Tonto is 'straight out of 'The village People'...
And do we dare bring up the unspeakable acts implied in 'Davey and Goliath' or between Shaggey and Scooby? Want a Scooby Snack now?! I certainly dont!!!
Jerry Falwell warned that this day was coming... The gay Tele-tubby, Tinky-Winky, was just the first in the steps to 'Gayify' children 6 and under! Sure we laughed at Falwell, but since the Tele-Tubbies started there has been a sharp increase in the number of 3 year olds that identify themselves as homosexuals, transvestites, or firefighters....
In all seriousness, I hope OUR religious fanatics and fundamentalists stick to cartoons... and butt the hell out of real life...
