Space/Science » in reply to re: Could the Allen Array be used to operate the MERs?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I really am a nice guy, who simply comes to the Habitavle Zone to relax and blue sky - I did not see this post before I responded again above - I certainly wish that I had...

I suppose that Mr Lafon simply added his insulting comments to your earlier persistent questions...

actually, I wish you the best of luck in your commercial effort - go for it - but I truly doubt if it will have much success - I think instead you should make contact with some of the private rover efforts which may be coming along shortly, depending on the availability of very low cost launchers - I seem to remember that SpaceX was working on a big dumb booster -

In response to the topic at hand, I guess it just depends on the power and frequencies for the Allen Array. I don't have a clue what they are - I have several linear feet of materials to go through in the next couple of days on quite important matters, and I certainly don't have time to do a detailed analysis - its being bandied about that they will be the best available, far exceeding anything else -

Another item to consider here is the timeline for the Allen Array to come online, which I also don't know, and MER lifetimes. Additionally, there's the overall load on the DSN, and how that will flow over time with upcoming probes...

I have briefly looked at communication architectures since 1991.

I would particularly like to apologize for my last post to you above...
