Please be serious. The US military is an occupying force, bring Iraq under complete US domination - militarily, politically, economically.

It is not "keeping it safe". Baghdad Airport is closed, according to recent reports, for significant lengths of time, the Green Zone isn't particularly safe, even, and the countryside is dangerous.

Saddams brutalities occurred trying to prevent a civil war. And Americas will be the same.

Eventually. Right now, they seem to be somewhat united in wanting American's out.

But an army, not accountable to local authorities, keeping the country "safe".

Silly.
