Not Quite Accurate
I don't recall any Democrats rejecting their share of the pork nor fillibustering tax cuts or ballooning budgets. The only reason we had a balanced budget under Clinton was a Republican Congress and a fiscally moderate Democrat for President. It's pretty clear now that divided government is a good idea. The Republicans have forgotten restraint under the drug of power and the Democrats aren't willing to sacrifice anything for fiscal responsibility.
