Or, maybe like with the victory in the Cold War, the president will just be written completely out of the history.

Future generations should be so lucky, to be able to say "George who?"

Any claims of "victory" in the Cold War belong to the people of the former Warsaw Pact, not St. Ronnie. Borrowing a figure from chess: The US and the USSR played to a draw, for long enough that the venue collapsed around their ears.
