What happened last week could have had dangerous consequences for astronauts had they been on their way to the Moon.
This is one of the reasons I believe a fast Moon direct trip is a better way than various steps.
But then, if it's possible to predict more than 3 days in advance that a CME will hit the Moon, then it's a strong reason to delay the trip. But if it's too late, then getting to a Moon shelter ASAP is the next choice. Of course, that's assuming a shelter does already exists.
