The United Nations Development Program and Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development have issued a brutally honest Arab Human Development Report on the state of the Arab world.
It's exactly what they need to trigger growth , tolerance towards women, democracy in the area and the world should support it.

But why does the US reject it?

Because of the AHDR's criticism towards the Iraqi occupation and Israel?
But freedom of expression is essential if one wants to start a democracy!
Gorbachev liberated the Russians' minds but he didn't last long because of their anger. That was his courage: to admit he lost and withdraw from power.

Democracy isn't the prerogative of one country. There are various forms of it and the US should accept this.
