Years ago I lived in Germany. I was returning by train from a business trip in Munich and had to change trains in Frankfurt. I own a Rollei SL-2000F camera that uses these lovely Zeiss lenses. When ever I was in a new German town, I'd go window shopping at the used camera stores in the hope of finding a second hand lens. Anyway, it was late at night and it was going to be a couple of hours before my train came so I left the train station to check out the camera stores. I was very focused on finding a nice lens in the shop windows. Eventually I noticed that there were lots of women standing around me dressed in odd clothing. Some of them approached me and behaved in a very friendly fashion. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why because I didn't know any of these people. At the time, my German language skills were very poor so I couldn't understand what they were saying. This one desperate girl approached me and started rattling off numbers (from my limited language skills I knew how to count in German). Why was this girl saying all these numbers? I was very confused. Then this one girl approached me like I was her long lost friend. It took her a couple of moments to realize that I was clueless and then saw the big black G.I. standing behind me. Now he was here best friend. At that point the light blub went on over my head. Sizing up the situation, I decided it would be safer to wait for my train in the station. I never did buy a Zeiss lens in Frankfurt.
