Colonizing Greenland

I forgot to mention this: Sagan was a staunch opponent of manned space exploration. Sagan could not grasp the concept that the politics of unmanned space explorations caused its funding to scale with manned space exploration, i.e. kill off manned space exploration and unmanned space exploration dies as well. Sagan liked to comment that it would be easier to colonize Greenland than Mars. Greenland has a population of 56,309 people. The Inuits started colonizing Greenland in the 1200s. This sort of sloppy argument was typical of Sagan. Oddly enough, the infotainment media was never really skeptical about him and tended to put him on the same pedistal with Einstein and Feynman.
