UFO proponents follow some very predictable gambits that reveal a lack of argumentative rigor, and the three cases listed here show this same pattern. In general, 'famous' cases -- the ones that attrack enough attention that some skeptical investigatyors have time to dig up explanatory information nor found or revealed by UFO proponents -- are abandoned for 'fresh' cases that have one major virtue: they have only been 'investigated' by volunteers and hobbyists who WANT them to remain unexplained. This mindset -- usually innocent and unconscious -- has a marked influence on the course and 'conclusions' of such research. The example isn't perfect: The three cases include Phoenix 'lights' that HAVE been looked at by people sincerely seeking prosaic explanations -- and their investigations have revealed significant omissions, distortions, and misinterpretations/misrepresentations in the versions promoted by the UFO school of thought.
