worm kills taskman, regedit and msconfig

One of our kids picked up a worm on my daughters machine that seemed to have something to do with AIM. NAV did not catch it. Using an online scan and adware scanners, I have managed to get rid of the more obvious performance problems and I can find no trace of the culprit worm.

Unfortunately, the subject services are still disabled. I have worked around by renaming the exe files and creating shortcuts but I can no longer access the services via control-alt-delete for taskman and the run command for regedit and msconfig.

The computer seems to be working fine with no resource problems or quirks but I hate baling wire fixes.

Anybody have any ideas on this short of formatting.
