Bodies of Four US Soldiers Retrieved from Iraqi River

Baghdad, Feb 15(Prensa Latina) The bodies of four US soldiers were retrieved on Tuesday after their vehicle had fallen into the Ishaqi River, north of Baghdad, said sources from the US command.

According to some media reports, another four US soldiers were wounded in the accident that took place on Monday near the northern city of Balad, about 62 miles from the capital.

Their deaths bring to 1,467 the number of US troops killed in Iraq since the US-British military escapade against the Gulf country was launched without UN consent amidst worldwide rejection.

On the political scene, it was confirmed that the United Iraqi Alliance (UIA), a Shiite coalition of parties that won the parliamentary elections on January 30, will nominate two figures as candidates for prime minister for the incoming Executive -vice president of the interim government Ibrahim al Safari and Finance minister Adel Abdulmahdi.
