Mr. Clark is convinced its mud. It doesn't matter what the abstract actually says, when Robert says "mud" he means "mud." Of course, the idea that exceedingly thin films of ephermal water equates to "mud" is natural to Robert's lexicon of thinking. In fact, it accurately describes his thinking...muddy.
