Future shock aside, damn I miss Portland.
And looks like my parents weren't kidding about the non-February weather. It sounds like Mt Baldy, outside LA, has more snow than Mt Hood!!! When I was in college during the late 80s drought, I think there were a couple of seasons when the Baldy ski area never opened; certainly, there wasn't snow on it through the whole season.
