re: Rover self-portraits
Spirit is a long way from any crater at the moment. Infact, the nearest large crater is Bonneville, the one it left about 320 sols ago, and it doesnt have the the morphology of Endurance crater that was probably to thank for Opportunitys cleaning.
On the up side - spring is in the air, and thus longer days and a higher sun. On the downside - it's Dust-Storm time soon.
If they both died tomorrow - I'd still be overjoyed. They've done more than anyone could have ever dreamed of.
