MARSIS couldn't tell rock from ice. Gravitometric data from orbiting spacecraft maybe useful however.
Space/Science » in reply to Ground penetrating radar MARSIS on Mars Express or SHARAD on Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter might give strong support for it.
