And quite frightening.
When I was a little girl, I accidentally stepped on my kitten's paw while out raking the yard with my mother. I must have been 6 or 7 or so.
My neighbour's cat (that was normally chained up....seriously) came lunging at me, attacking my face. My mother pulled it off and the cat went after her biting her in the ankle. I had to go to the hospital, I was covered in blood, and although I didn't need stitches, I had scars for years. Yet, I still love cats.
Last week I brought home a cute little meowser, about three months old. One of my older cats with peculiar personality traits immediately attacked it and tried to kill it. My son and I went to great lengths to keep them separated and get the older one out of the house. (She is no longer with us, by the way). I had to pick three broken claws out of the kittens' face and neck.
My three other mellow felines are all getting along famously with the new addition. The other cat had always been disruptive.
Yes, felines can be very aggressive, but in the many decades I have had cats, they have been nothing but loving and wonderful companions.
I like the ones that talk to me. They are also very sensitive to your moods and can be very comforting in a time of sorrow.
