A couple of observations from recent news...
- The "Arab Street" doesn't seem to mean what it used to mean.
- A lot of people who insisted that Arabs were not ready for democracy and freedom and didn't want it "forced" on them, have been awfully quiet lately.
Will they actually get freedom? Who knows? But even if the attempts fail, I think the view that freedom is the natural desire of all human beings seems to be proving out.
