I had no idea this kludge would work before I tried it, and my PC developed a bad case of the blahs during the process that had me worried about kacking two computers instead of one.
I am installing OSX 10.3 on all my Macs. One new thing: My PC is now fully visible to the Mac's networking, and for the first time in my life, in an environment with no server, I can freely move files over the network between PCs and Macs. Joy!
Course, I still can't see the Macs from my PC, but what the heck.
