The Law of the Left: "In any conflict between America (or Western values and interests) and any other entity or interest, the Left will take the other side."
The corollary, of course, is that they will automatically oppose any nations or groups that ally themselves with America.
The "Left," in this context, are leftist politicians, pundits, writers, publications, academics, and others of political influence in their respective fields.
In the years since I first started paying attention to politics, I have seen no major exceptions to this rule.
