It looks a little bit like a ballistic exit wound.
Not a soft tissue wound as such, more like a frozen medium?
Begging the mercy of those expert in this field at HZ, but... might this be a volcanic cinder cone, similar to Sunset Crater but with out the terrestrial weathering?
