It was a fairly well done thriller, although not Clancy's best by any means (I have read nearly every Clancy Fiction novel and a few of his books on tactics during the first gulf war. He is an intelligent man and does thorough research and I respect that, even though I disagree with the politics he lets seep through into his novels. I have only read one of his 'Op-Center' comic books which seem to be written by a ghost writer.

I was disgusted by the huge change in the plot in the movie and SHOCKED that Clancy allowed it... However, it may have been viewed as too painful and, quite frankly, inflammatory- to stick to the original plot so soon after 9/11... (I disagree...)

This wouldn't be the first time... The Kennedy assasination killed the classic "The Manchurian Candidate" - It was dubbed to be too sensitive a topic.
