Ever hear of checks and balances?

Some people seem to believe that once the courts have ruled on something, there's nothing anyone can do about it. If we're going to let the courts make irrevocable declarations, then we can save a lot of time and money by doing away with elected officials. All we'd need is a bunch of unelected and unaccountable judges to make up the laws as they see fit. That is the express road to tyranny.

Checks and balances mean that legislatures can and should overrule the courts when they believe the courts have ruled incorrectly or have overstepped their bounds. After all, even the Supreme Court has been known to blow it big time on occassion, e.g. the Dred Scott decision.

Try reading the Constitution, then insist that all branches of government live by it.
