Will you agree that sometimes letting humans die is kind?

You like to make it personal, so if you had a child that could only live a limited time on a respirator, would you have the decency to let him/her die? Or would you selfishly demand that they suffer as long as possible so you could tell yourself 'I did all I could' ?
