I am shocked that I am the first to post this.
I think the man honestly tried to do only good, he had the moral conviction to admit some of the church's past wrongs.
However the Catholic church has done and continues to do extreme evil in the world- John Paul wasnt personally responsible for that evil, but he did nothing to stop it.
Fighting against condoms for AIDS ravaged countries is evil. Fighting against birth control in overpopulated countries is evil. Covering up abuse by preists was evil.
