"Opportunism" has an exact meaning, and does not automatically imply criminal actions, just pursuing their own interests when possible. Do you really expect China to not go after every oil source it can?

BTW, nobody with any brains still thinks Iraq was about the oil. There were far too many easier ways to go about it, and the world got on pretty well during the embargo without Iraqi oil.
