re: Celestron and Meade
Vee-der-bye-bye to your guarantee unless a successor agrees to honor it.
But with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission protesting previous merger attempts, the two companies sought FTC approval ahead of time, this time using the "failing firm" doctrine, which could allow two rivals to merge if it otherwise meant one would completely exit the market.
What's up with the FDC, they have something against Celestron staying in the US? Losmandy won't be complaining about the merger, would they?
I doubt Meade will sell. They need to trim there line of telescopes and eyepieces. Offer a SCT that is GOTO equatorial mounted without a wedge.
