The title of my Ph.D. thesis was "Transition and Mixing in Axisymmetric Jets and Vortex Rings". I'm not the best at spelling but do know a little bit about vortices. If you'd like to learn more about the vortex ring, Landau-Squire jet or Hill's spherical vortex then I'd suggest reading "An Introduction to Fluid Dynamics", by G. K. Batchelor, Cambridge University Press, 1967.
