"how's that for moral high-ground?"
Pretty lousy.
"With two relationships and 2 children by the last Woman while Terri lay in her bed,"
This is just another attempt at painting MS as an immoral man. An argument that instead of addressing the facts (TS being cortically dead, MS being within his rights, etc), seeks to argue a case based on the terpitude of one of the people involved.
That aside:
Basically, what you are saying is that if you 'run out the clock' , he loses his rights to make the decisions he is legally entitled to make for his wife? A sort of 'Basketball' view of the law and an individuals rigths under the law? At the time he tried to exercise his legal rights, he was not seeing anyone else, had re-built his life around caring for TS, and had spent 7 years trying anything, including expensive experimental therapies to bring her back- against the advice of numerous doctors.
Its not his fault that the parents, the religious right, and people like you got involved and blocked him from exercising his rights.
Are you actually saying that MS has to choose between exercising the rights and living a normal life?
Suppose you are a young man in your early twenties who marries. Suppose someone abducts your wife. Suppose that after 7 long years, you give up hope of ever having her again and try to put together some sort of life, some sort of family. Do you stop looking for your first wife? Do you stop caring for her? Do you stop feeling obligated to do whatever you can as long as you live to find out what happened to her?
But at the same time, are you required to sacrifice the possibility of a future, a loving family, grandchildren on your knee in old age?
MS has a right to move on and have a life. MS has a right to exercise what he feels are his obligations under the law. The two things are not exclusive, and you can't deny someones rights simply by dragging things out for a decade.
Beyond this half-slanderous argument, the brass tacks are you talk a damn fine game, but I'd like to see what YOU would do after your wife was 7 years in a PVS, after 7 years of the medical, scientific and practical facts staring you in the face. You talk all righteous and pious about him fathering children while 'Terry laid in her bed', but until you walk a mile in those shoes, your pretense at the moral high ground mean all of nothing.
