So if we can conduct surgery on folks and wire up their brains better, will we all become the next Einstein? Or Zephram Cochrane?

Sounds simple enough. How unfair that so many of us are denied geniushood and our own Miracle Years because nature gave us less wiring - but just look at politics and Hollywood and ask yourself how much that wiring is needed for most people to make a name and money for themselves, of not honor, true contributions to society, etc.

If we did not have so many societal (read irrational) fears about "improving" us beyond what slowly evolving nature gave us, we could become a truly amazing species. Can anyone say Kardashev Civilizations Type 2, 3, and beyond? Right now we haven't even achieved Type 1 yet.
