re: Could MRO resolve the Viking Landers?
I'm fairly sure MRO will find all of those - of particular interest would be to see a MPL's backshell, parachute and heatshield + impact site. It's worrying that MOC didnt spot them - despite seing the MER hardware so very easily.
HiRise on MRO will have, for every 1.5m x 1.5m pixel of a MOC picture, up to 81 pixels of resolution :O Even when MOC does it's cunning 0.5x1.5m pixels, it's still 13-15 pixels in that same area.
